Footcandle Films

Do you enjoy listening to people talk about films? What about those films that may not show up at the local multiplex but are instead showing at the smaller specialty theater across town? Then ”Footcandle Films” may be the show for you. Each month, the hosts discuss and review one ”smaller” film in-depth, discuss upcoming film news, and give recommendations on films that you may not be aware of, ones that you haven’t remembered in a while, or ones that are worth your time checking out. And all the while, the conversation never gets too ”high-brow” or pretentious. Just two guys who enjoy talking about movies. Your Hosts: Alan Jackson and Chris Frye, founders of the Footcandle Film Society.

"The Artist" won some of the biggest Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Director.  But was it any good?  Alan and Chris talk about the film, and along the way get into one of their biggest disagreements since the podcast series started.
Luckily, they make up afterwards to discuss some movie news, including their thoughts on the actual Academy Awards ceremony, the next, very interesting, Woody Allen film (that he's starring in, not directing), and the return of Alan's childhood favorites, "The Lone Ranger".  All this, and more, on this episode of "Footcandle Films".

"My Week With Marilyn", starring Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh, was nominated at this year's Academy Awards for both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor.  Did either of these two actors deserve to win, did the film deserve more accolades than it received, or was it overrated?  Alan and Chris discuss "My Week With Marilyn" as their main review in this episode of "Footcandle Films".
After the main review, Chris and Alan discuss some of the latest movie news.  Topics in this episode include:  "Biopics: Love 'Em or Hate 'Em?", "Found Footage: Love It or Hate It?", and "Robert DeNiro: Love Him or Hate Him?"  (Maybe we need to have our MESH intern to start writing our show descriptions.)
